Cutters' Annual Chili & Wing Cook-Off Set for Sunday

WEST HAVEN, CT - At least 20 New Haven area restaurants and vendors are expected to compete in the New Haven County Cutters' Second Annual Chili & Wing Cook-off this Sunday, Sept. 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Historic Yale Field.

The participants will go head-to-head in an all day cook-off for the honor of earning the Cutters title of Best Chili and Best Wings in New Haven, as voted on by the event's attending fans. The winners will also receive a complimentary night in a Luxury Suite at a 2007 Cutters game ($500 value).

Along with unlimited chili and wings being served at the Cutters' off season event, a beer festival, live music and a 62" screen TV airing Sunday's football games will take place throughout the day.

The event is sponsored by the University of New Haven Hazell Center, G&G Beverages and Coors Light and will feature the following vendors:

Archie Moore's (New Haven), Brick Alley Tavern (West Haven), Buffalo Wild Wings (Milford), Carousel Gardens (Seymour), Donovan's Reef (Branford), Fire & Spice (Hamden), Joe Iannazzo (individual - Wallingford), Joe Medina (individual - Milford), Johnny's Grill (West Haven), Justin Kingsley (individual), Laurel Estates (Orange), Pancho's Cantina (New Haven), Pilgrim BBQ (Ansonia), Spectators (West Haven), S'Wings (New Haven), Uncle Willie's (New Haven) and UNH Hazell Center (West Haven).

Looking to uphold their title on Sunday are last year's winners Joe Medina (Best Wings) and Justin Kingsley (Best Chili).

The event will also include Italian ice served by Rita's Italian Ice (West Haven) and scheduled to perform live music is solo artist John Taglieri and the band "Goda".

Admission is $20 and includes all you can eat chili and wings and four beer/soda vouchers. Admission is $17 with college ID and $10 for kids 14 and under. Attendees must be 21 to drink with proper ID.
