Cutters add home exhibition and a pair of pitchers

New Haven County Cutters News Release


The New Haven County Cutters have added a home exhibition game to their schedule which they plan to make fan-friendly in that there will be some access to players throughout the game. The date is May 22 (Sunday) at 2:05 against Canadian-American League newcomer, the Worcester Tornadoes. The ballpark gates will open at 1 o’clock.

Featured at the game will be an autograph table that will be visited by Cutters players throughout the nine-inning contest. Fans will have the opportunity to meet and interact with players. Tickets for the game are $3, with open seating.

Season ticket holders and fans who purchased mini-plans are entitled to free tickets.

The game will be broadcast over the Internet and can be heard by going to the team’s website, www.CuttersBaseball.com.

This will be the second of two exhibition games, as the Cutters will visit Brockton to take on the Rox on May 21.

The home exhibition will be the first chance to see the 2005 edition of the Cutters in person. The second chance is the team’s home opener, which is on May 30 (Memorial Day) at 6:05 against the Grays, the league’s travelling team. Fans will be treated to a post-game fireworks show.

Young Arms Added to Roster

The Cutters have signed a pair of right-handed hurlers, Nick Rowland and Courtney Hall. Both pitchers were members of Frontier League teams part of last season.

Rowland, a Marion, OH native pitched, for Florence last season and played college baseball at the University of Toledo, while Hall hails from Edmonds, WA and pitched collegially at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV).

The pitchers were signed under the recommendation of Pitching Coach Todd Etler.

The Cutters now have 23 players under contract for the upcoming season.
