
Curve Set For Season-Opening, Week-Long Homestand

ALTOONA- After a long winter of anticipating the start of the club's Tenth Anniversary Season, the Altoona Curve will officially open the 2008 season at Blair County Ballpark Thursday evening at 6:35 p.m. against the Reading Phillies. While Opening Day will come with plenty of fanfare and a magnificent package promotions, including a special guest appearance by Pittsburgh Steelers legend and Curve ownership partner Jerome Bettis, fans are reminded that Thursday's game is just one of seven fun-filled nights of Curve action to open the season.
The Curve will be at home for their first seven games of the season, including four games against the Reading Phillies thru Sunday and a three-day set against the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) starting Monday evening.
Here's a look at the great promotions for the season-opening, seven-game homestand at Blair County Ballpark:
Thursday, April 3 - 6:35 p.m. vs. Reading (Gates Open at 5)
- Special ceremonial first pitch by Jerome Bettis
- Special guest Pirates' President Frank Coonelly will be in attendance

Great seats remain for Thursday's Home Opener and the rest of the club's season-opening, seven-game homestand, which runs through Wednesday, April 9.
