Curve Retro Celebrity Series Returning in '07, Idol Finalists to Appear

ALTOONA- Stars from some of the most popular shows in television history will combine with standout performers from one of this generation's most popular programs to highlight the list of special celebrity appearances during Altoona Curve home games throughout the upcoming 2007 season.
The Curve's innovative and extremely popular Retro Celebrity Series, which features special appearances by well-known actors from some of the most-watched programs in television history, will return once again in 2007 and combine with the brand-new Curve Idol Series, which will bring four popular performers from the first five seasons of FOX's highly-rated American Idol series to Blair County Ballpark. A total of nine Retro Celebrity Series/Curve Idol Series appearances will dot the Curve's 2007 home schedule, which opens on Thursday, April 12 at 6:35 PM against the Reading Phillies.
Highlighting the list of Curve Retro Celebrity Series appearances for the 2007 season will be the return of Erik Estrada (CHiPs) on May 5 as part of the Curve's Cinco de Mayo celebration, otherwise known as "Cinco de Estrada!". Estrada also appeared at Blair County Ballpark during the 2006 season and won over the hearts of all fans in attendance when he stayed nearly two hours after the conclusion of that night's game to sign autographs.
Other Retro Celebrity Series appearances at Blair County Ballpark will include Antonio Fargas ("Huggy Bear" from Starsky and Hutch) on June 12, Butch Patrick ("Eddie Munster" from The Munsters) on July 13, Christopher Knight ("Peter Brady" from The Brady Bunch) on July 17 and Anson Williams ("Potsie" from Happy Days) on August 28.
The brand-new Curve Idol Series will feature appearances by former American Idol finalists Ace Young (Season 5) on April 20, Anthony Fedorov (Season 4) on May 7, Kevin "Chicken Little" Covais (Season 5) on June 27 and Kimberly Caldwell (Season 2) on August 2. Idol Series stars will sing that night's rendition of the Star Spangled Banner prior to the game and sign autographs for fans throughout the evening.
"Our fans really responded to last year's popular Retro Celebrity Series and we're excited to give it a slightly different twist this year by combining it with our brand-new Curve Idol Series," said Curve General Manager Todd Parnell. "This year's celebrity appearance schedule really has something for everyone. Not only are we once again bringing in a great list of stars from the greatest shows in television history, but we also have a great roster of talented and popular performers from this generation's most-watched program."

Single-game tickets for the Curve's 71-game home schedule will go on sale to the public this Saturday, March 3rd at 9 AM as part of the Curve's annual TicketPalooza event at Blair County Ballpark and on-line at www.altoonacurve.com.
