Utah Flash News Release

PROVO, Utah, Nov. 3, 2009 - The Utah Flash announced today that they will be inviting two local college standout basketball players to join the team for training camp. Lee Cummard and Luke Nevill will begin workouts with the Flash starting Nov. 15.

Both players spent the summer working out with various NBA teams, but after failing to make an NBA roster have decided to play with the Flash. Cummard and Nevill sent in their paperwork to the league earlier this week and will be local allocation players for the Flash, and thus will not have to participate in the draft.

Former BYU player, Cummard, is a 6-foot-7 guard from Mesa, Ariz. Cummard was a three-time all-Mountain West Conference player. After earning third-team honors as a sophomore in 2006-07, he was a first-team honoree in 2007-08 and 2008-09. Cummard was also the Co-Player of the year and received Associated Press All-America honorable mention recognition in 2007-08.

Nevill most recently played for the University of Utah. He was named Honorable Mention All-America following his senior season. Additionally he was named the Mountain West Conference's Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. Nevill was also MWC's Tournament MVP. He finished his career as Utah's all-time blocks leader (205), third in defensive rebounds (672) and fourth in points (1,898). Had 32 double-doubles and 25 games of 20 points or more during career.

Utah Flash veterans expected to report to camp on the 15th include Andre Ingram, Carlos Wheeler, Bennett Davis, Dontell Jefferson, James Lang, and Gavin Grant. The Flash will bring a total of 17 players to training camp and Flash opening day rosters will consist of 10 players. Workouts begin on Nov. 15 at the Pinnacle Security Gym in Orem, Utah.
