
'Cudas Slammed by Alabama

PELHAM, Alabama - The Jacksonville Barracudas (18-7-1, 37 points) lose for the first time to Alabama 2-0 snapping a four-game winning streak over the Slammers. Slammers center Hugo Belanger scored both goals for Alabama.
The Barracudas pressured Alabama all game long out-shooting the Slammers 36-26. The Cudas beat Slammers goaltender Jamie Ronayne twice but came up with nothing but two goal posts for their efforts. Ronayne finished the game with 36 saves for his second shut out of the season.
The Barracudas continue their road trip with back-to-back games in Macon on Friday and Saturday nights. The Barracudas lead the season series 6-0 and the overall series 10-7. Jamie Miller leads all players in this series in goals (6) and points (12). Derek Toninato (2g-8a) and Mike Johnson (1g-9a) each have 10 points against the Trax this season.
Jacksonville's goaltending has been stellar against Macon. Against the Trax this season the Cudas have a 2.80 GAA and a .902 save percentage. Jacksonville has out-shot Macon 206-176 and outscored them 30-17. Derek Toninato, John McCabe and Neil Wilkinson have plus/minus ratings of +7 against the Trax. No player for Macon has a plus/minus rating higher than zero against the Cudas.
Jacksonville returns home for the first of four in a row at the Veteran's Memorial Arena on Saturday, January 24th against the Macon Trax. Face-off time is 7:05pm. Buy a ticket to Saturday's game and receive a free ticket to Sunday's match up with the Orlando Seals. Face-off on Sunday is 6:05pm.
