NEWINGTON, CT â April 3, 2003 â The Connecticut Crush Women's Football Team hosts the Maine Freeze in an exhibition scrimmage this Saturday, April 5th, at Veteran's Memorial Stadium in New Britain. Kickoff is 4:35 PM. Crush fans will have the opportunity to preview the third season of exciting, hard-hitting action from Connecticut's only women's tackle football team in a fun, family-oriented setting. Admission is free to the public.
The CT Crush is among 30 teams across the country set to compete in the National Women's Football Association (NWFA) in 2003. The NWFA is the largest league in the world for women's full contact NFL-type football. The CT Crush opens an 8 game season on the road versus the Philadelphia Phoenix on April 12th. The Crush home opener is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd at Veteran's Memorial Stadium in New Britain, adjacent to the home of the New Britain Rock Cats. All home games begin at 7:35 P.M.
