Connecticut Crush News Release
NEWINGTON, CT â June 11, 2004 â The Connecticut Crush Women's Professional Football Team (5-2) enters its final home game of the 2004 season, on Saturday June 12th, tied with the Massachusetts Mutiny for second place in the Northern Division. A playoff berth is on the line. The winner will advance and the loser will go home. Kick off is 7:05PM at Veteran's Memorial Stadium in New Britain, adjacent to the home of the New Britain Rock Cats.
Since the league's inception, there has been a growing rivalry between the teams, further fueled by recent events. Last year, the Crush claimed a one point victory at Massachusetts with no time on the clock, narrowly beating out the Mutiny for the final playoff spot in the Conference. In this season's first meeting of the two teams, the Crush saw a 7-0 lead in the 3rd quarter erased as the Mutiny scored 28 unanswered points to win the game. Don't miss this highly anticipated rematch! With the playoffs only one victory away, both teams are certain to bring their best!
