DETROIT - The Motor City Cruise, G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, clinched the two-seed in the Eastern Conference and secured a first-round in the NBA G League Playoffs. The Cruise will play either the Delaware Blue Coats or the Long Island Nets on Friday, April 8, at 8:30 PM ET at Wayne State Fieldhouse. The game will also be televised on ESPNU.
Tickets for the playoff game can be purchased at Cruisebasketball.com or by phone at 313-550-6041. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative rally towel at the door.
"Securing the first-round bye and a home playoff game is a huge accomplishment for this group, especially in a single-elimination playoff format," said DJ Bakker, head coach of the Motor City Cruise. "We are excited to be in this position, but we know there is more work to be done. We are looking forward to our matchup on Friday and are excited to see our fans pack the building."
The Cruise, 22-10, enter the playoffs as the second seed behind the Toronto Raptors G League affiliate, Raptors 905, who finished the season 24-8. Motor City is one of three teams to qualify for the Showcase Cup Tournament and the NBA G League playoffs, joining the Delaware Blue Coats and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
