KODAK, Tenn. - All looked lost for the Smokies on Friday night against the Barons until a six-run ninth propelled the team for its eighth comeback victory of the season.

The Barons struck first in the top of the first, when a DJ Herz wild pitch with the bases loaded scored Jose Rodriguez from third. However, Herz pulled a rabbit out of his hat to only allow the one after loading the bases again with no outs. The Smokies tied the game back up in their half of the inning when Luis Vazquez scored from third on a wild pitch.

A sacrifice fly from Rodriguez brought home Taylor Snyder from third in the top of the second to allow the Barons to reclaim the lead, 2-1. Once again, Tennessee tied the game in the bottom half with a solo homer off the bat of Pablo Aliendo.

Birmingham eventually took the lead back in the sixth inning, as a pair of bases-loaded walks and a wild pitch gave the Barons a 5-2 advantage. They added one two more in the seventh, when Taylor Snyder hit a two-run shot.

Two runs came home for Tennessee in the bottom of the eighth, when Haydn McGeary scored on a Nelson Maldonado double, and Maldonado scored on a wild pitch, making it 7-4.

But the Barons added on two in the top of the ninth, giving them a five-run advantage. However, that was not enough, as the Smokies had a furious comeback, scoring six runs in the ninth, featuring four walks and five hits. The walk-off hero was Pete Crow-Armstrong, as his two-out hit brought home Maldonado and Aliendo, winning the game 10-9.

The series continues tomorrow night (5/27) at 7:00 PM EST with Margaritaville Night. The first 1,000 fans will receive a beach hat. There will also be Margaritaville-themed foods, drinks, music and more. The night will conclude with a fireworks show after the game.
