Creditors Interchange inspires children with Congressman Higgins

August 30, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

Congressman Brian Higgins addressed a group of over 100 at Old First Ward Community Center today unveiling the newest division of the Creditors Interchange "Do Your Best, Never Quit" initiative. Many children joined members of the Old First Ward, including youths from "The Family", local Boys & Girls clubs, several AAU teams and more. Among those present were a host of community leaders and corporate partners who endorse the program.

The new hospital division unveiled at today's press conference will involve the Creditors Interchange "Do Your Best, Never Quit" team of professional basketball players delivering their message of hope and inspiration to those stricken with various health issues. Over 150 seminars are projected at hospitals, treatment and rehabilitation centers over the coming year. The purpose of the program is to continue to positively impact the lives of thousands of our community's children.

Congressman Brian Higgins stated in his address to the crowd, "I would like to thank Creditors Interchange and the players that are here. They will tell you that regardless of their physical capabilities, in any competition, in any sport throughout life, what's most important is not how they're built on the outside, but how they're built on the inside. You don't win unless you have character, unless you have heart, unless you have sense of community and working together."

The Congressman continued, "This is an extraordinary program, because its professional athletes like these gentlemen behind me who can instill in all of you, the younger people, an appreciation for what it is they have done to prepare themselves individually and as a team for competition this year. They're doing this to let you know that you have to do the same things to prepare for success in your lives."

Dr. Richard L. Jacob, General Manager and Head Coach of the Buffalo Silverbacks said, "Several months ago we embarked on a mission to contribute to the betterment of our community. Our Creditors Interchange "Do Your Best, Never Quit" life seminar is offered to deliver a message of hope and inspiration to help individuals overcome personal adversities by learning to reach deep within themselves."

As the school year approaches, the "Do Your Best, Never Quit" campaign has scheduled an educational tour across school districts in the five counties of Western New York.
