
Craig Leads 'Birds by Royals

MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis rallied by Omaha 4-3 Saturday night at AutoZone Park in front of 11,371 fans.
Allen Craig led the way for the Redbirds scoring three of the clubs four runs and hitting a pair of solo home runs. Craig's second blast of the night proved to be the game-winner in the eighth inning with two outs. Memphis rallied for two unearned runs in sixth to tie the game after three Omaha home runs had staked the O-Royals to an early lead. Mike Moustakas hit two home runs to lead Omaha with Lucas May hitting his first for the Royals. For Memphis it was the 13th last at-bat win and fourth in their last five home games. The win also ran the Redbirds record to 12-4 at AutoZone Park in July.
Rich Rundles earned the win in relief for the 'Birds turning in 1.1 perfect innings. Omaha's Luis Coleman took the loss after giving up Craig's eighth-inning homer. Memphis starter Kyle Lohse tossed four innings in his second rehab appearance. The right-hander allowed three runs on four hits, including three solo home runs, with two strikeouts on 61 pitches.
The Redbirds and Royals play tomorrow afternoon with first pitch slated for 1:35 p.m. P.J. Walters gets the nod for the home team against Omaha southpaw Edgar Osuna.
