
Coyotes Slam Dillas with 22 Hits

EDINBURG, TX - The Edinburg Coyotes definitely brought their bats against the Amarillo Dillas with a 22-hit barrage as the Coyotes defeated the Dillas 15-4 on Friday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
Dillas starter Kyle Allen (6-6) went three innings, gave up five earned runs and nine hits before leaving with an injury. Coyotes starter Carlos Jan (2-3) went five innings, gave up one unearned run, three hits and struck out four.
The Coyotes wasted no time in taking a big lead as they scored five runs in the first off four hits and two errors for a five-run lead. The Dillas would score their first run in the third as Rick Owens Jr. doubled to lead off, went to third on a groundout and scored when Jordan Ramos reached on an error for a 5-1 deficit.
In the fourth, Nelson Teilon led off with a homerun while two more runs would score to put the Coyotes up by seven. The fifth inning started with another homerun, this time by Cameron McGuire. Three more runs would come across on four additional hits to give Edinburg a 12-1 lead.
After the Coyotes scored twice in the seventh, they would add an unearned run in the ninth to take a 15-1 lead. Amarillo would score three unearned runs in the ninth but couldn't come back as they fell 15-4.
With the loss, the Dillas fall to 20-23 on the second-half of the season and 46-47 overall. Saturday, the Dillas will take on the Edinburg Coyotes for the second game of a three-game series at 7:05 pm with Dillas Pre-Game set to begin at 6:50 pm on 1010 AM The Canyon and online via AudioSportsOnline.com. Game time is tentative and is subject to blackout.
