
Coyotes crush Bufalos in 13 innings

Edinburg, TX- The Edinburg Coyotes dominated the University of Tamaulipas Bufalos 10-1 in a 13 inning exhibition game Saturday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Coyotes emphasized defense in the game as they rotated most of their pitchers throughout the night. The Coyotes offense was lit up early in the game as third baseman MayoBanex Santana doubled to center to bring in second Gary Roche in the first.
The Coyotes went on to score two runs in the third and fifth inning to extend their lead to seven. Coyotes continued to play stout defense as CJ Mincey struck out four consecutive batters in the fourth and fifth innings. The Coyotes ended the night with 18 hits and eight earned runs.
The Bufalos scored only one run in the 10th inning as Abdel Rivas scored off a double by Jair Orozco.
The Coyotes will kick off the 2008 campaign as they host the San Angelo Colts on Tuesday at 10:35 a.m.
