Sioux Falls Stampede News Release

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede is set to host the Lincoln Stars for Country Night, presented by Prairie Farms, on Saturday night at the PREMIER Center. The Herd is currently 25-24-5-1 with 56 points in USHL Western Conference standings.

The Stampede is coming off a three-game week against the Sioux City Musketeers and Omaha Lancers. The team came out of the week with one win on Sunday afternoon at home, taking down the Lancers, 5-3, for Stomp's Birthday Bash. Currently holding fifth place in the USHL Western Conference, the Herd has marked seven more points than the Stars. However, the Stars have the ability to catch up to the Stampede as Lincoln has two more games to play before the end of the regular season than Sioux Falls. The Herd is working to catch up to the Tri-City Storm in fourth place with 61 points.

During this year's USHL Clark Cup Playoffs, the teams in third and fourth place will earn home ice for a best-of-three, first-round series. With the first and second seeds receiving a bye, the third seed will host the sixth and fourth seed will host the fifth. During the Conference Semifinals, the format moves to best-of-five for the remainder of playoffs.

The Herd and Stars have split the four games they've played so far this season, 2-2. The Stampede started the series with a 3-2 shootout win on Nov. 3, 2023 in the PREMIER Center. Most recently, the two teams split a weekend in Lincoln, Neb. with the Stars taking game one 5-2, then the Herd flipping the script and defeating the Stars by the same score the following evening.

Prior to Saturday's matchup, the Stars will travel to Omaha, Neb. to take on the Lancers on Friday evening. A similar setup will come next week when the Stars host Omaha before the Stampede travels to Lincoln to close this year's regular-season series between the two teams.

With Country Night coming to the PREMIER Center on Saturday, fans are encouraged to get to the arena early and grab the final set of Midwestern Mechanical Player Trading Cards. Packs are available to the first 500 fans. Fans should arrive to the PREMIER Center in their best Western wear and be prepared for a night of "Boot Scootin' Boogie-ing." Tickets for the Herd's last two home games are available at the Stampede office, KELOLAND box office or through any Ticketmaster outlets.
