Kalamazoo Wings News Release
After nearly a week off, the K-Wings return the frozen floors tonight to play the Port Huron Beacons. Last week, Kalamazoo gave up two goals in the game's first three minutes of play; however, the K-Wings were able to derive a four goal comeback led by David Struch, who netted Kalamazoo's first hat trick of the season in the team's 4-2 victory over the Beacons.
The K-Wings enter the game in second place in the UHL's Central Division and are just four points behind the Muskegon Fury for the division's top spot. The K-Wings possess scoring up front as well as on the blue lines. Forward David Struch leads the team in goals scored with three, while forward Yannick Carpentier and defenseman Daniel Carriere lead the team in scoring with five points.
Port Huron comes into tonight looking to snap a four game losing streak. The Beacons are 0-2-0 at home, including a 6-4 loss to Kansas City in their last game on Sunday. The Beacons are lead by Aaron Brand, who leads the team in scoring with 7 points.
