
Cougars Sign Draft Pick Carter Rigby

Prince George, BC - Prince George Cougars General Manager Dallas Thompson announced Wednesday that the Cougars have signed 15-year old forward Carter Rigby to a standard Western Hockey League contract.
Rigby was the Cougars sixth pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft, selected in the eighth round, 158th overall. This season, Rigby has 54 goals and 33 assists for 87 points in 48 games for the Midget AAA Penticton Vees. Rigby, who stands 6'0" and weighs 200 pounds, also has 121 penalty minutes. Last season in Bantam AAA, Rigby had 67 goals and 120 points in 47 games.
"This is another important piece for the Cougars future and we're very pleased to have Carter sign with us," said Cougars General Manager Dallas Thompson. "Carter uses his size very well and has shown that he's got solid finish around the net."
Rigby will play his first Western Hockey League game for the Cougars on Friday, January 29 in Kelowna.
