Cougars Release 2014 Game Schedule

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars organization has announced its game schedule for the 201 4 season. Opening Night at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark takes place on Tuesday, April 8 with a 6:30 p.m. game against Fort Wayne. The Cougars open the season on the road with the first game of the 2014 season set for Thursday, April 3 at Quad Cities. In addition to playing Western Division opponents throughout the season, the Cougars will travel to play Eastern Division foes Bowling Green (April 14-16), Dayton (April 17-19), Lansing (July 16-18) and Great Lakes (July 19-21) this season and will host Fort Wayne (April 8-10), Lake County (April 11-13), South Bend (July 23-25) and West Michigan (July 26-28).

Several promotional acts for next season have been confirmed as well. Famed ballpark organist Nancy Faust will return, playing live organ music both before and during every Sunday home game beginning on May 4. Those Sunday dates are Sunday Fundays with free kids entertainment and ballpark discounts for families. Also for next season, the Jesse White Tumblers will perform their high-flying routine following every Saturday game beginning on May 3. Popular weekly theme nights such as Thirsty Thursdays will return beginning on June 5. A total of 2 7 home dates will feature a post-game fireworks show, with the first show scheduled for May 2 . Additional special events, promotional acts and theme nights will be announced later this fall as they are confirmed.
