Columbus Cottonmouths News Release
As the Columbus Cottonmouths continue their quest for a second SPHL championship, they will step off the ice and into the classroom to take on a new challenge.
On Feb. 8 and 9, all Cottonmouths players will visit up to 18 participating elementary schools, reading to every class and student during the two-day span.
Each student at participating schools will receive a voucher, good for a free child's ticket to our Feb. 20 Sunday game at 4 p.m. Also, all students who participate will have the opportunity to vote on one of three final designs for Snakes goaltender Andrew Loewen's new goalie mask. Students will be given a ballot to select their favorite design, and Loewen will reveal his new mask on Feb. 20.
There is still room available for elementary schools in Muscogee, Harris and Russell counties, and Phenix City. Schools wishing to participate in our reading challenge can contact Whitney Mixon in the Snakes office.
