Columbus Cottonmouths News Release

The Cottonmouths organization has teamed up with corporate partner AFLAC and will be opening its doors to area 3rd, 4th and 5th graders for a "Face off Field Trip" game on Thursday March 19th. The puck will drop at 10:30am and will be free of charge to attending students, teachers and chaperones.

The "Face off Field Trip" will utilize the Cottonmouths' hockey players and game elements to promote learning opportunities and feature interactive educational items aimed at engaging students and stimulating learning in a fun and exciting environment outside of the class room. The students' knowledge will be put to the test as we quiz them on geography, math, language arts and more, all around a fun and exciting Cottonmouths hockey game.

"We are glad to revive the 'Face Off Field Trip' after a short hiatus," said Coach/GM Jerome Bechard. "We want the students to learn and have a good time while doing it. Hockey is a fun sport to watch, so supplementing the game with some educational aspects can really be engaging to young students."

The Cottonmouths next home games are this Friday Jan. 30th and Saturday Jan. 31st at 7:30pm. For more information about the team or the Face off Field Trip, please call the front office at 706-571-0086 or contact us through our website at www.columbuscottonmouths.com.
