Columbus Cottonmouths News Release

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- The Columbus Cottonmouths have signed Andrew Loewen to a three game contract. Loewen, a former player and fan favorite, will assist in filling Brandon Jaeger's vacancy.

Jaeger has been added to the roster of the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL. Loewen will be stepping in to an interim position for the next three games dressing out on Thursday in Huntsville, Saturday in Columbus and next Friday in Columbus. Although Loewen chose not to return full-time after this past season, he has a strong relationship with the team and is willing to step in and help the organization.

Last season, Loewen started in 32 games and racked up a total of 18 wins and 10 loses. His goals against average was a solid 2.36 and had a total of 3 shutouts. The Canisius College graduate had a total of 920 saves and will be a great addition to the team for the next three games.

When asked about the recent signing of Loewen, Head Coach Jerome Bechard stated, "We are very lucky to have Andrew and his wife call Columbus home. Our younger players will be able to feed off of his work ethic, attitude and experience. His ability to be a good role model on the team will prove to be a great asset to the organization."

Tickets start at $14 for Upper Level Seats for Saturday night's Pucks & Paws game.
