Cottonmouths Announce 2009-10 Schedule

The Columbus Cottonmouths have announced their 2009-10 schedule featuring 56 games, 28 each home and away. The Snakes will face six teams this season, including founding SPHL teams Fayetteville, Huntsville and Knoxville, and newcomers Louisiana, Mississippi and Pensacola. The Snakes kickoff their 14th season with a pair of home games Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23 and 24 against the Fayetteville FireAntz at 7:30 p.m.

Overall, the home schedule consists of 21 weekend dates, including three Tuesdays, four Thursdays, ten Fridays, nine Saturdays and two Sundays. Tuesday through Saturday games will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday games will start at 4 p.m. Game times are subject to change, and changes will be announced as soon as possible.

The Cottonmouths will face the Fayetteville FireAntz 11 times, the Huntsville Havoc and Knoxville Ice Bears ten times each, the Pensacola IceFlyers nine times, and the Louisiana IceGators and Mississippi Surge eight times each. The Snakes will be home for the holidays as they host games on Halloween, Thanksgiving, and New Years Day, and do not play on Christmas Day.

The SPHL has added one week to the end of the schedule, extending the regular season to 23 weeks. The Snakes wrap up the regular season Saturday, March 27 in Huntsville.
