Rio Grande Valley FC Toros News Release

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC forward Robert Coronado has earned the USL Championship Fans' Choice Goal of the Week for Week 13 of the regular season. Coronado's goal against Orange County SC featured a wide-open shot 30 yards from goal that the first-year player blasted into the top-right corner.

Although the Toros did not end up with the result they were looking for against OC, the goal was Coronado's first as a professional. The opportunity arose when RGV FC was down by a pair of goals in the first half. Houston Dynamo loanee, Ronaldo Peña, initiated the play that allowed Coronado to move into space before launching a right-footed bomb that was too good for Orange County goalkeeper Patrick McLain.

"It feels good, I have a lot of support from everyone here in the RGV and back home. So, I want to thank everybody who voted for me," Coronado said. Coronado's goal earned 48 percent of the poll conducted online at USLChampionship.com.
