
CornBelters Partner with Best Buddies Illinois

The CornBelters and The Corn Crib, presented by Illinois Corn Growers, announced a community partnership with Best Buddies Illinois as the venue sponsor of their Friendship Walk on Saturday, April 14th.
Funds raised through the Friendship Walk benefits Best Buddies - the world's largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This year's goal is to raise $86,000.
"We are so excited to bring the 4th Annual Best Buddies Friendship Walk to The Corn Crib this year." said Area Director of Best Buddies Illinois Jamie Davis.
The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down Syndrome, Autism, Fragile X, Williams Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury and other undiagnosed disabilities.
Their programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD through three program pillars:
One-to-One Friendships: Builds friendships between people with and without IDD, offering social mentoring while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion.
Integrated Employment: Secures jobs for people with IDD, allowing them to earn an income, pay taxes, and support themselves.
Leadership Development: Educates and empowers people with and without IDD to be leaders, public speakers, and advocates.
BEST BUDDIES NIGHT WITH THE CORNBELTERS
The CornBelters will be hosting a "Best Buddies Night" during their 2018 regular season on Friday, June 8th with Best Buddies Illinois as the community spotlight partner of the game. The CEFCU Entertaining Friday on June 8th features a CornBelter mini-bat giveaway to the first 500 fans through gates beginning at 6:05 p.m. (first pitch at 7:05). Participants from this year's Friendship Walk will be recognized on the field before the game.
"We are excited to be partnering with a great organization that shares a similar passion for supporting our local community and its members," said CornBelters Vice President of Ticket Sales Ryan Eucker.
Fans can purchase tickets to the game and support Best Buddies Illinois using promo code "BUDDIES" when purchasing tickets online, over the phone, pr by visiting the MICU Box Office at the Corn Crib. For each Reserved Box Seat purchased ($10 each) using the promo code, $5 will go back to Best Buddies Illinois.
