Normal CornBelters News Release

When the Normal CornBelters begin to play ball in the Frontier League next May, fans will be able to follow the team on WTRX (93.7 FM), a Radio Bloomington station, and on the web at WTRXOldiesChannel.com.

CornBelters President Steve Malliet and Radio Bloomington Vice-President and General Manager Red Pitcher this afternoon announced an agreement to make WTRX, the Oldies Channel, the official broadcast station for the Normal CornBelters for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. In addition, select games will air on WJBC-AM in Bloomington and on WJBC.com.

"Bloomington/Normal has a rich history in baseball, from amateur to professional," said Pitcher. "And along the way WJBC and its family of stations have followed the first to last pitch. It is only natural that we partner with the CornBelters organization as they bring professional baseball back to the Twin Cities. We are looking forward to many exciting evenings and afternoons at the ball yard."

In addition to airing the Cornbelters' games, the team will have a promotional partnership with all five Radio Bloomington stations.

"The CornBelters are delighted to partner with such a quality radio group as Bloomington Broadcasting," said Malliet. "With a strong signal from our official broadcast partner WTRX 93.7 FM, our fans throughout Central Illinois will be able to follow the Cornbelters at home and on the road."
