
CornBelters Announce 2018 Spring Training Schedule

The Cornbelters have announced their 2018 spring training schedule in preparation for the 2018 Frontier League season.
Spring training will be officially underway with practices beginning on Tuesday, May 1st at 9:30 a.m., with on-field activities starting at 10:00 a.m and lunch in the clubhouse at approximately 1:00 p.m..
With a few exceptions due to special events (details below), spring training practices are free and open to ticket plan holders, sponsors, and the general public. To inquire about daily practice schedules, contact the CornBelters front office by calling or texting 309-454-2255. Those planning to attend practices should park and enter the ballpark through the northwest gate.
2018 SPRING TRAINING SCHEDULE
Tuesday, May 1st: Team meeting at 9:30 a.m. followed by practice from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and lunch in the clubhouse at 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 2nd: Game against the Joliet Slammers starting at 11:00 a.m. in Joliet, Illinois.
Thursday, May 3rd (*Media Day): Practice from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., lunch in the clubhouse at 1:00 p.m., followed by official Media Day (see details below).
Friday, May 4th: Practice from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., lunch in the clubhouse at 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 5th (*Community Events): Pitch, Hit, & Run event (see details below) and Daybreak Rotary Cajun Craze (see details below) at The Corn Crib, followed by practice from 6:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., dinner in the clubhouse at 8:15 p.m. Please note that due to the special events on May 5th at the ballpark, spring training will not be free to attend.
Sunday, May 6th: Team stretch and warm up at The Corn Crib beginning at 8:30 a.m., home game at 10:00 a.m., lunch in the clubhouse at 1:00 p.m.
Monday, May 7th: Home game at 9:00 a.m., lunch in the clubhouse at 12:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 8th (*Education Day #1): Team warm-ups beginning at 8:30 a.m., home game at 10:00 a.m., lunch in the clubhouse at 1:00 p.m. This is a ticketed event and not free to attend.
Wednesday, May 9th (*Education Day #2): Team stretch and warm up at The Corn Crib beginning at 8:30 a.m., home game at 10:00 a.m., lunch in the clubhouse at 1:00 p.m. This is a ticketed event and not free to attend.
Thursday, May 10th (Final Day of Camp): Team stretch and warm up beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by batting practice at 11:30 a.m., team meetings from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., lunch in the clubhouse at 1:00 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENT NOTES
Tuesday, May 3rd is Spring Training Media Day at The Corn Crib. Practice is from 10:00 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m., followed by lunch in the clubhouse. Following practice, players and coaches will be available for interviews. Local media outlets and their representatives will be invited to attend, for more information contact VP of Ticket Sales Ryan Eucker.
Saturday, May 5th is the Pitch, Hit, & Run community event at The Corn Crib co-hosted by Normal Parks and Recreation and the Normal Cornbelters. Pitch, Hit, & Run is an MLB sponsored skills competition open to boys and girls ages 7-14 and is free to participate in. The event will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by team practice from 6:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. For more details on this event, please visit the Normal Park & Rec's website.
During the evening of Saturday, May 5th the Bloomington-Normal Daybreak Rotary Club will be hosting their 5th Cajun Craze event at The Corn Crib beginning at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale which features crawfish fresh from Louisiana, additional event fare, live music, and entertainment. Tuesday, May 8th and Wednesday, May 9th will feature the CornBelter's Baseball in Education Days with over 4,000 area students ranging from pre-k to junior high school attending training camp exhibition games against Frontier League opponents.
