Normal, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, have partnered with National Pro Fastpitch to bring fans a special exhibition between some of the best professional softball players in the world, and the Illinois State University softball team.

"We're very much looking forward to bringing the 'NPF Back to School Tour' to Normal in early October. We feel there is great synergy in the area for the possibility of expansion, and we're anticipating seeing a big interest from fans throughout Central Illinois," said NPF President/Commissioner Cheri Kempf. "We'll be bringing some of the game's very best athletes, and we'll be playing an extremely competitive ISU team that qualified for the NCAA Tournament a season ago."

The double-header will take place at The Corn Crib on Sunday, October 7. Gates will open to the public at 2 p.m., the first game will begin at 3 p.m. and the second game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. The NPF will also host a pre-game clinic for girls softball teams purchasing 20 or more tickets! Teams must consist of girls between the ages of 8-14, and space is limited.

"We're thrilled to be hosting another event at The Corn Crib this off-season," said CornBelters Owner/President Steve Malliet. "In addition to Heartland Community College baseball, men's and women's soccer and the IHSA Class 1A Boys Soccer Finals, the ballpark will continue to be busy through the winter months once again."
