Cordell Cato Called to Trinidad & Tobago National Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that midfielder Cordell Cato will join the Trinidad and Tobago National Team for the December training camp featuring a pair of friendlies against Nicaragua on Dec. 27 and 30.

Cato will join the training camp on Dec. 15 ahead of T&T leaving for Nicaragua on Dec. 25 for the friendly matches that will take place on Dec. 27 and Dec. 30. The training camp comes in preparation for T&T's 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifying matches against Suriname on Jan. 4, 2017 and Haiti on Jan. 8, 2017.

Cato, 24, has made 21 appearances for T&T, scoring three goals. Cato most recently featured in a pair of 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches, playing 75 minutes in the 2-0 loss to Costa Rica on Nov. 11 and the full 90 minutes in the 3-1 loss to Honduras on Nov. 15.
