Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release

Daniel Corcino and Wilkin De La Rosa combined to throw the first no-hitter in Blue Wahoos history on Saturday night in front of the 21st sellout crowd of the season at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

Corcino threw 110 pitches over eight no-hit innings before getting lifted for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the eighth. Wilkin De La Rosa came in to pitch a scoreless ninth. He walked one, but struck out the side. With the crowd clapping in rhythm and all of them on their feet, Marc Krauss was caught watching strike three for the final out to complete the no-no and the Blue Wahoos 6-0 victory.

The accomplishment comes one year to the day, after Matt Moore, now with the Tampa Bay Ray, no-hit these BayBears as a member of the Montgomery Biscuits.

Fireworks capped an unforgettable night in Pensacola. The show was presented by Woodlands Medical Specialists.

The Blue Wahoos and Mobile BayBears will wrap up the first half of the season on Sunday afternoon. It's Father's Day on a McDonalds Family Sunday. As a tribute to all dad's, we will let the fathers run the bases after the game. The kids run and family toss in the outfield presented by McDonalds will follow. Also after the game, stop by for a taste of Pensacola's largest ice cream sundae.
