PENSACOLA, FL - RHP Daniel Corcino shut down the Mobile lineup through eight innings before left handed reliever Wilkin De La Rosa picked up the final three outs in the ninth inning, as the Pensacola Blue Wahoos combined for a no-hit, 6-0 shutout win over the Mobile BayBears Saturday night at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

Only three men reached base against Corcino as Yazy Arbelo drew a two-out walk in the bottom of the second, while Ed Easley was given a two-out free pass in the fifth and Matt Davidson drew a base on balls in the seventh inning.

Pensacola took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after an RBI single from Joel Guzman plated Didi Gregorius. The Blue Wahoos extended the lead to three with a two-run home run by David Vidal in the seventh inning. Pensacola made it a 6-0 score after adding three more insurance runs in the eighth inning.

De La Rosa entered the game in the ninth inning for Corcino who had thrown 110 pitches through eight innings. After Evan Frey struck out to lead off the ninth, David Nick drew a walk; just the fourth BayBear runner of the night. De La Rosa completed the no-hit bid fanning Matt Davidson and punching out Marc Krauss on strikes.

The no-hitter against the BayBears comes one year to the day on June 16, 2011 when Montgomery Biscuits LHP Matt Moore recorded a no-hitter in Mobile.

The BayBears will wrap up the first half of the season on Sunday afternoon at Pensacola. RHP Chase Anderson (2-1) will make the start for Mobile, while the Blue Wahoos will send RHP Kyle Lotzkar (3-1) to the mound. First pitch Sunday is scheduled for 2 PM.
