Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
Spring has sprung in Saskatchewan and with it the promise of Roughrider football. The Club is thrilled to be returning to the University of Saskatchewan and Griffiths Stadium in Saskatoon for three weeks beginning when rookies report on May 6.
First time Roughriders will hit the field May 8-10, with main camp opening on Sunday, May 12. Our annual Green and White Day will take place on Saturday, May 18 at SMF Field. Gates will open at noon with activities for the whole family including face painting, music, inflatables, performances from the 620 CKRM Pep Band, 620 CKRM Rider Cheer Team, and of course, Gainer the Gopher.
Roughrider President and CEO Craig Reynolds, Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Jeremy O'Day, and Head Coach Corey Mace will give the State of the Nation address and host a fan Q & A at 1 p.m., prior to the start of the team's on field events. More details on Green and White Day are to follow.
On May 20, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit Mosaic Stadium to square off against the Roughriders in the first preseason game of the season. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
It will be a tight turnaround for the Roughriders as the team will then travel to Edmonton on May 24 for its second preseason game on May 25.
With the Club's preseason game schedule completed, the team will pack up and return to Regina for the final week of the preseason on May 26, hosting the final week of Coors Light Training Camp practices at Mosaic Stadium from May 27-31.
