
Conner's Two Homeruns Lead River City to 8-6 Win at Mid-Missouri

The River City Rascals evened up the series with the Mid-Missouri Mavericks on Monday night at Taylor Stadium with an 8-6 win behind a pair of homers from Michael Conner.
Conner belted his 8th home run of the season in the 1st inning off of losing pitcher Jared Wood (2-4) to score Lucas Taylor and give the Rascals a 2-0 lead.
The Mavericks took the lead in the bottom of the 1st on a sacrifice fly from Jake Whitesides and a 2-run double by Bill Greenwell.
Conner belted his 2nd homer of the game and 9th of the year in the 4th inning to cap off a 6-run outburst that included a 2-run double by Lucas Taylor and RBI hits from Bryan Weiss and Jeremiah Bergheger.
Dan Krines (4-0) pitched four innings of 1-run relief to earn the win, while Wes Jaillet collected his 6th save of the season with a perfect 9th inning.
Rob Shabansky (0-0) will make his 1st start and 2nd appearance as a Rascal on Tuesday night against veteran left-hander Justin Stine for Mid-Missouri in a 7:05pm game. Fans can tune into the game on 104.5 FM KSLQ at 7pm.
