Condors Assistant Coach Willett Attends Career Day; Blitz Attend "Just Say No" Rally

Monday, May 10th - The Bakersfield Blitz mascot Crusher and BSE Director of Community Relations & Development John Ayre will be at the Outstanding Student Awards Ceremony for kindergarten - third grade students at Stella Hills Elementary School beginning at 9:45am. Following the morning ceremony, Blitz OL/DL Kika Kauluaau and James Heimuli will be at the fourth and fifth graders ceremony beginning at 1:00pm. Stella Hills Elementary School is located at 3800 Jewett Avenue in Bakersfield.

Thursday, May 13th - Select Bakersfield Blitz players will be at Louise Sandrini School for their Celebrity Reader Day beginning at 8:30am. Louise Sandrini School is located at 4100 Alum Avenue in Bakersfield.

Thursday, May 13th - Bakersfield Condors Assistant Coach Paul Willett will be visiting Fairview Elementary for their Career Day beginning at 8:30am. Willett will visit three classrooms to discuss his career in professional sports. Fairview Elementary School is located at 425 E. Fairview Road in Bakersfield.

Thursday, May 13th - Bakersfield Sports Entertainment will be at the 2004 Leaders in Life Youth Conference from 10:25am - 1:00pm. The Bakersfield Condors inflatable Slapshot game will be there to entertain the attendees. The conference will be held at the Bakersfield Convention Center located at 1001 Truxtun Avenue.

Thursday, May 13th - Come on down to the Holiday Inn Select for the Indoor War Report with Blitz Head Coach Rick Van Horne as well as select Blitz players from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. The IWR is a great chance for fans to meet their favorite members of the 2004 Blitz as well as win great prizes. The Holiday Inn Select is located at the corner of Truxtun Avenue and Q Street. The show can also be heard live each week on KGEO AM 1230.

Friday, May 14th - Tune in to K-Lite 105.3 for the Breakfast with the Blitz beginning at 7:40am. Every home game during the 2004 season select Blitz players will enjoy breakfast with a lucky fan. Tune in Thursday morning to qualify for your chance to have Breakfast with the Condors.

Friday, May 14th - Bakersfield Sports Entertainment's Director of Community Relations & Development John Ayre will be joined by Crusher and select members of the Blitz at the "Just Say No" Walk & Rally Youth Kick-Off at Franklin School beginning at 9:15am. The event is sponsored by the Community Action Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse.

Friday, May 14th - Bakersfield Condors Quinn Fair and Paul Rosebush will be at the Endeavor Elementary School Carnival beginning at 6:00pm. They will be joined by Colonel Claw'd and the Condors inflatable Slapshot game. Endeavor Elementary School is located at 9300 Meacham Road in Bakersfield.

Saturday, May 15th - Cal, the Baby Condor will be at the Town and Country Village "Parent Challenge 2004" from 12:00pm - 1:30pm. The event includes an activity course in which a parent and their child team up to compete for prizes. Town and Country Village is located at the corner of Gosford Road and Stockdale Highway.

Saturday, May 15th - Join the Bakersfield Blitz when they host the San Diego Riptide as Real Rock 93.1 and Bright House Networks host Armed Forces Day Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle & Auction. Commemorative Armed Forces Day game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off after the game, plus everyone in attendance has a chance to win one of five to be given away! All proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Bakersfield. Also, everyone in attendance will receive a pair of Blitz Thunderstix.

Q&A WITH THE CONDORS - Saturday, May 15th Condors owner Jonathan Fleisig, Head Coach Marty Raymond, Front office staff, and select Condors players will be present to field your questions and discuss plans for the upcoming season at the Holiday Inn Select, Poolside Courtyard from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. RSVP to Stacy Lafortune at 324-7825. Space is limited to the first 200 people. The Holiday Inn Select is located at 801 Truxtun Avenue.
