Condors and Pepsi Team Up for Prize-Winning Promotion

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League have teamed up once again with Pepsi Bottling Group of Bakersfield to begin a vending promotion that will feature Condors prizes on specially marked bottles. The Condors will also be featured on 32 oz. paper cups, which will include the team's remaining schedule.
Over 100 different vending machines around Bakersfield will feature the 20 oz. bottles, slated for distribution this week. Those bottles will randomly feature a sticker designating a Condors prize has been won. The vending machines containing prizes will be labeled indicating that the machine is a Condors prize machine. Customers will have a chance to win 600 prizes in total, including a year's supply of Pepsi, Condors tickets, pucks, bobbleheads, game-used autographed sticks, and a game-worn jersey.
The paper cups will feature the Condors logo and schedule, and can be found at participating restaurants and stores where Pepsi Fountain Soft Drinks are sold. The cups are scheduled for distribution in late January.
"This is a fun promotion for us," said Condors President & GM Matthew Riley. "Our involvement with Pepsi is very much a positive co-branding experience. We're happy to reward Pepsi's customers with the gift of Condors hockey!
"We are elated to working with the Condors for our biggest local prize program that we do in Bakersfield," said Tammy Hacker of the Pepsi Bottling Group.
The Condors are also hosting Dr. Pepper Discount Day on Thursday, December 26th against Fresno at 7:00pm. Fans can receive $2 off any ticket by presenting the Dr. Pepper neckringer coupon found at participating stores.
Bakersfield hosts the Fresno Falcons on Friday night at 7:00pm for Team Calendar Night. The first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a Condors 12-month calendar, sponsored by KRAB Radio and CARQUEST . It's also the premiere telecast of the season on Time Warner Cable. All Friday home games will air live and tape-delayed the following Saturday morning at 10:00am on Time Warner Cable Ch. 21.
Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden.
Condors Droppings. . . Congratulations go out to Cal, the Baby Condor and Condors Ticket Sales Manager Jose Rivera, who won Second Prize in the Novelty Division in the Delano Christmas Parade last Friday night. The Condors will also be participating in the 20th Annual Downtown Bakersfield Christmas Parade on Saturday, with Cal, the Baby Condor riding on the KGET-TV 17 float.
