Nick Wagner stepped up to the plate in the 6th inning against Corvallis and delivered a big 2 run single, helping the Elks defeat the Corvallis Knights by a score of 5-1.
The Elks pitching staff continued to improve and was impressive on Wednesday, holding Corvallis to just 1 run on 5 hits in the game. Patrick Keane got the start for the Elks and was impressive, giving up 1 run on 3 hits in 4 innings of work, receiving the no-decision. The Elks bullpen tandem of Michael Dingilian, David Birosak, and Daniel Grazzini combined to give up just 2 hits the rest of the way, while striking out 7 in securing the victory.
Jordan Copeland, Bo Walter, and Kyle Gallegos all scored a run as the Elks were issued 5 free passes and took advantage of them, as 2 of the 5 turned into runs for the Elks. Will Sparks had his 11 game hit streak snapped on Wednesday, the Elks third win in a row.
