COMING UP FOR THE COMETS:

Last week, the Comets (8-10) suffered three road losses and look to turn it around with wins in three games this week. The team is tied for sixth place with the Chicago Storm, four games out of first place.

In their first game of the week, the Comets welcome the Philadelphia KiXX for their annual School Day Game on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Kemper Arena. The KiXX (14-8) are currently in first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League. This year's theme is Walt Disney, and KPHN 1190 AM has put together an educational halftime. About 7,000 school-aged kids are expected to attend. Kick off is at 10:35 a.m. Philadelphia leads the season series 2-0 so far and also leads the all-time series 15-14.

After a day's break, the Comets commence back-to-back play this weekend with a game against the Cleveland Force (8-11) at 6:35 p.m. CST on Friday, Feb. 11 at the Wolstein Convocation Center. It will be the teams' third of six meetings this season. The Force recently defeated the Comets 9-2 on Feb. 4. The game can be heard live at www.thesportsking.com/liveshow.asp. The season series is tied 1-1, and the Comets hold the all-time record advantage 20-18.

The Comets close out the weekend with a rematch against the Cleveland Force, set for 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12 at Kemper Arena. The game features a hilarious halftime soccer game by World Famous Mascots. Mascots scheduled to appear: Mr. Goodcents, Sly the Fox, Dingo, KC Knight, Dynamo the Dragon, Bob the Hog, Sporty Bear, Mongo Man, Teeko, Cha!Cha! the Tree Frog and Mya the Jaguar, Sizzle and the Sumo Wrestlers, and Fuzzy the Cosmic Cat.

Next week's action: The Comets play back-to-back games next weekend.

The Comets went 0-3 in tough games on the road last week.

Comets, 5, at St. Louis Steamers, 11 (Feb. 2, 2005)

The Comets tied the game at 1-1 early in the first quarter but would not get any closer to the win. St. Louis rattled off eight unanswered goals en route to the 11-5 victory. The Comets were led offensively by Vlatko Andonovski and Miki Djerisilo, who each recorded two points. Chris Damico replaced Sanaldo in goal in the third quarter, but Sanaldo recorded the loss.

Comets, 2, at Cleveland Force, 9 (Feb. 4, 2005)

The Comets were held scoreless until the fourth quarter when Vlatko Andonovski put up a goal for Kansas City. The Force rolled to a 9-2 victory. Comets forwards Anthony Maher and Jamar Beasley left the game with injuries. Chris Damico took the loss in goal for the Comets.

Comets, 4, at Chicago Storm, 8 (Feb. 5, 2005)

The Comets again tied the game 1-1 but were unable to keep it close after the first quarter. Chicago defeated the Comets 8-4. The Comets were led offensively by Jeff Davis, who posted two goals in the loss. Sanaldo returned to goal and recorded the loss to drop his record to 4-5.
