Kansas City Comets News Release

ALLEN, TX - The Missouri Comets spoiled the Dallas Sidekicks' home opener and improved to 2-0 after defeating the Dallas Sidekicks 8-6 at the Allen Events Center in their first road game of the season with forward Max Touloute as the team's hero with four goals.

Head Coach Vlatko Andonovski's side will be back in action again tomorrow night when they visit the Harrisburg Heat at Royal Farms Arena at 6:05 p.m. CT. The match will be streamed live on Go Live Sports Cast.

Ten minutes had to be played before the first goal was scored when rookie Rubencho Hernandez put the Sidekicks on the board to make it 1-0. However, goals from Touloute and Ramone Palmer gave the Comets their first lead of the game late in the first quarter.

Early in the second stanza, Dallas' Cody Ellis found the equalizer when he beat goalkeeper Boris Pardo, who finished the game with 19 saves, to tie the match at the 1:24 mark. Eight minutes later, Ricardinho found the back of the net to end the half with a 3-2 score.

Both teams came back to the field with an offensive mindset but the home team was able to extend their lead when Paolo da Silva notched his first tally of the season making it 4-2. The Comets scored two straight goals courtesy of defender Kevin Ten Eyck and Touloute to tie the game. Both teams would score one more time to end the third quarter with a tied 5-5 match.

One minute into the final quarter, RJ Luevano gave the Sidekicks a confortable two-goal lead before the Comets scored three consecutive goals from John Sosa, Leo Gibson and Touloute to end the contest with a final 8-6 score.
