Comets Agree to Terms with Paul Dolinsky
November 6, 2003 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
Kansas City Comets News Release
Kansas City, MO â The Kansas City Comets announced on Thursday that they have agreed to terms with midfielder Paul Dolinsky on a five-game/15-day contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Dolinsky, 20, left high school at the age of 16 to play overseas in Europe. He spent his first season abroad with Dutch First Division club Feyenoord and subsequently played two seasons for Heerenveen, also a First Division side.
After returning to the States, he spent the 2002 A-League season with the Indiana Blast, where he scored five points in 20 games. In 2003, Dolinsky scored three points for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. He has also spent time the U23 U.S. National Team.
The native of Carmel, IN, is the son of former indoor great John Dolinsky, who scored 109 points and blocked 164 shots in this League before recording an 86-117 record as head coach for the Milwaukee Wave, Dayton Dynamo, and Chicago Power from 1987-1996.
The signing of Dolinsky gives the Comets 21 players under contract. Defender Nate Houser (quad) and forwards Anthony Maher (hernia) and Goran Karadzov (knee) are on injured reserve and thus do not count towards the MISL's maximum roster number of 20.
Dolinsky will be available to play this weekend when the Comets travel to San Diego to face the Sockers. The game, which will be broadcast live on Channel 38 The Spot, kicks off at 7:00 p.m. Central Time. It can also be heard live on 1340 KCKN.
