Kansas City Comets News Release

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS - The Missouri Comets announced today the addition of Robert Palmer to the official roster. Although not related, Palmer grew up with teammate Ramone Palmer in Kingston, Jamaica, and then the two were teammates at Park University.

Robert Palmer came to Park University in 2008 and started 17 games in his freshman year. He earned the 2008 MCAC Freshman of the Year award while leading his team to six shutout victories and seven shutouts overall. He was named AMC First Team All-Conference in the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Palmer replaces Craig Rocastle on the roster after the midfielder was placed on Injured Reserve earlier this week with a knee injury.

The Comets are on the road tonight against the Wichita Wings in Hartman Arena at 7:35pm. The team returns home next Saturday, December 29th at 7:35pm at the Independence Events Center. The game is also the annual Media Game, where fans can watch their favorite TV, radio, newspaper and internet personalities in an exhibition soccer match at halftime.
