Clearwater Threshers News Release

BRADENTON, FL - The Clearwater Threshers (49-23, 5-2) had the tying run on first with the bases loaded in the ninth but were unable to come all the way back in a 6-3 loss to the Bradenton Marauders (39-33, 4-3) on Saturday night at LECOM Park. The Threshers look to bounce back on Sunday afternoon in Bradenton.

Bradenton got on the board first with three runs in the third inning. They added one run in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to bring their lead up to 6-0.

Julian Bosnic came on for the ninth to try and preserve the shutout for the Marauders, and Emaarion Boyd led off the inning with a single. Justin Crawford followed him up with a single. Each moved up a base on a wild pitch before Otto Kemp walked. Ball four to Kemp was another wild pitch from Bosnic, moving Crawford to third and ending the shutout as Boyd scored the Threshers' first run from third base.

Chad Castillo dribbled a single up the first base line that plated Crawford, and an errant throw by the Marauders catcher allowed Kemp to move from second to third. Felix Reyes hit a sacrifice fly to right that scored Kemp and put the Threshers within three. Bosnic then walked Cole Moore and hit Jordan Viars with a pitch before he was pulled from the game. Elijah Birdsong replaced him and forced the final out of the game with the bases loaded, with the Threshers falling 6-3.

Estibenzon Jiménez allowed five runs on six hits in 5.0 innings of work, walking three and striking out six. Noah Song allowed one run on one hit with two walks and one strikeout in 1.0 inning. Dominic Pipkin struck out two in 1.0 scoreless and hitless frame. Seth Nightingale struck out one without allowing a run or a hit in 1.0 inning of work.
