
Comeback Bid Falls Short in 11-7 Loss

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.-The Colorado Springs Sky Sox had their 11-game home winning streak snapped Thursday night, dropping the series finale to the Nashville Sounds, 11-7, in front of 1,923 at Security Service Field.
The Sky Sox (54-32) tied the game in the fourth inning, sending nine batters to the plate during a four-run rally. Jett Bandy drove in his 13th run on a sacrifice fly to the warning track in right field, scoring Garrett Cooper. One batter later, Nate Orf beat out an infield single to shortstop Joey Wendle to score Brett Phillips and cut the original 4-0 deficit in half. With two outs, Mauricio Dubon lined a two-run single up the middle to score Orf and Nick Noonan.
The hosts made a comeback attempt in the ninth inning, scoring three runs to trim the final margin. De Jesus grounded a single up the middle to score Dubon for his 39th RBI of the season. Cooper lined his second double of the night during the next at-bat, plating Lewis Brinson and De Jesus on a line drive to the right field corner for his 28th double and 77th run batted in.
Colorado Springs hits the road for the final weekend before the All-Star Break. RHP Angel Ventura (3-1, 3.68) takes the mound at Dell Diamond for the first of three games against the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A Affiliate of the Texas Rangers. First pitch from Central Texas is set for 6:05 p.m. MT.
