Combined No-Hitter Leads to a Bombers 7-0 Win over the Generals

Victoria, Texas - The Bombers looked to bounce back after last night's loss and did just that on the mound and at the plate. The pitching staff was flawless against the Victoria Generals with 9 combined strikeouts, 5 walks, and no runs. Meanwhile, the Bombers bats were hot with 12 hits and 7 runs. Both sides of the ball, offense and defense had exceptional outings in tonight's game.

The Bombers struck fast and early with a RBI single by Chase Kemp and another 2 RBI single by Jordan Yeatts, making it a 3-0 first inning. Logan Teske came out firing with a quick three-up, three-down bottom half of the first and then again with three strikeouts in the bottom half of the second. The Generals struggled at the plate swinging, missing, and hitting into routine ground-outs and pop-ups. More action from the bombers bats came in the top of the 5th when Kemp singled and immediately after Cam Haller came up big, muscling over a 2 run blast to deep left field making it a 5 to 0 ballgame. Teske would finish his outing on the mound through the 6th with six strikeouts and no runs.

The Bombers would keep the bats hot in the top of the ninth when Kemp singled again, followed by a Sam McElreath single. Yeatts then came up to rock a line drive double to center field allowing Kemp and McElreath to both cross the plate making it a very comfortable 7-0 lead. The Generals couldn't match the Bombers as John Altman closed out the game with two strikeouts of his own.

Kemp had a fantastic night going 4-5 with 3 runs, 1 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Followed by a 2-3 night by Yeatts with 4 total RBI's, two of those coming off of a double. Haller stepped up as the DH and made his presence known with his monster two run homerun. And let's not forget about the arms on the mound. Teske getting the start, going 6 strong shutout innings, followed by two great innings by Bryce Bennett and Altman who would close it out with a perfect 9th, leaving the final score 7-0 for the Brazos Valley Bombers.

The Bombers will head to Acadiana tomorrow night to keep their arms and bats hot against the Cane Cutters with 1st pitch coming at 7:05 p.m. Central.
