Columbus Crew SC News Release
The Columbus Crew today announced that Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman and Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber are joining team Investor-Operator and Chairman Anthony Precourt to unveil its new visual and brand identity at an exclusive reveal event on Wednesday, October 8 at the LC Pavilion (405 Neil Avenue, Columbus), beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.
In addition to the Crew's first team and technical staff participating in the proceedings, the evening also features a live performance from national recording group New Politics.
"This will be a historic day for our club and our city," said Crew Investor-Operator and Chairman Anthony Precourt. "Our League is evolving, our community is emerging and it's the right time for us to realign our brand and our identity with this direction. We are looking forward to celebrating this exciting moment with our partners, season ticket members and supporters."
Emceeing the event is former Crew player, Major League Soccer veteran and current national soccer broadcaster Brian Dunseth. The former defender played 11 seasons in the League, including two years in Columbus where he helped the club to its first trophy, the 2002 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Since his retirement in 2006, he has transitioned to becoming one of the top broadcast talents in North American soccer, as well as co-owning the fashion line Bumpy Pitch and the soccer-specific website, TheOriginalWinger.com.
The evening's food and beverage selection for the special event is being provided by Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Schmidt's Sausage Haus, Cheryl's Cookies and Pepsi.
