Columbus Destroyers Fullback/Linebacker Harold Wells Named to AFL All-Ironman Team

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus fullback/linebacker Harold Wells has been named to the Arena Football League's All-Ironman Team, the club and League announced today.

Wells (6-0, 270, Gardner Webb), the franchise's all-time leading rusher, suited up in all 16 games this season setting career highs with 104 rushes for 224 yards (sixth in the AFL) and 17 rushing touchdowns (third in the AFL). In addition, he notched career numbers as a pass catcher with 19 receptions for 178 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense, the Ft. Gorden Ga. native tallied 18.5 tackles (15UT-7AT) and two tackles for loss.

The following Destroyers players who have earned end of the season League honors: Columbus Destroyers offensive lineman Will Rabatin (2008 First Team All-Arena); offensive lineman Howard Duncan (2008 Second Team All-Arena); quarterback Matt Nagy (2007 Russell Athletic Team Leader Award); defensive lineman Ken Jones (2007 First Team All-Arena); fullback/linebacker Wells and wide receiver/defensive back B.J. Barre (2007 All-Ironman Team); offensive lineman Rabatin (2007 All-Rookie Team); defensive back Jerald Brown (2006 First Team All-Arena and 2006 ADT Defensive Player of the Year); Buffalo Destroyers defensive specialist Dwaine Carpenter (2003 Second Team All-Arena); kicker Steve McLaughlin (2002 Second Team All-Arena).
