WHAT'S UP TODAY...
Soul players returned to practice Thursday for the first time since their division title-clinching win at New York. The guys practiced for about an hour and seemed refreshed after the three days off.
HE SAID IT...
Eddie Moten on being named to the All-Arena Second Team: "That's an individual award, and I'm very proud of my award, but we have a team award that we are trying to accomplish in winning the championship. That's my main focus right now."
AROUND THE LEAGUE
Back in mid-May the AFL's Board of Directors approved the use of instant replay as an officiating tool for the 2008 playoffs. It will mark the first time in AFL history that instant replay will be used. Each coach will have a total of two challenges per game that can be used at anytime during regulation. An additional challenge will be granted if the game goes into overtime, but challenges cannot "roll over" from regulation. Reviewable plays include: scoring, change of possession, fan interference and, at the referee's discretion, game administration. The referee will have 90 seconds to determine if the call in question will be upheld or overturned.
