Rampage WR/LB Lewis Named to All-Ironman Team

June 26, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

GRAND RAPIDS - For the fourth straight season, the Grand Rapids Rampage have placed a player on the Arena Football League's All-Ironman Team, as Jermaine Lewis (Waukegan, Ill.) was named to the prestigious squad today. Grand Rapids' receiver and starting Jack linebacker set career marks and ranked fourth on the team in receptions (40) and tackles (43.5).

Throughout the 2008 season, Grand Rapids took advantage of Lewis' athleticism and 6-4, 210-pound frame in the red zone on offense and in the Jack box on defense. The Western Michigan University product secured a career-best nine touchdown catches, including two key scores in the Rampage's 86-70 playoff-clinching win over the New Orleans VooDoo last Saturday (June 21). Defensively, Lewis broke up four passes, logged an interception and made two tackles for loss after firmly establishing himself as the team's starting Jack linebacker midway through the season.

Grand Rapids will make its return to the AFL playoffs this Monday when it travels to Phoenix to take on the Arizona Rattlers at 9:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN2.
