Columbus Crew SC MF Swanson Placed on Season-Ending Injury-List

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that midfielder Ben Swanson has been placed on the Season-ending Injury List. Earlier this week, Swanson underwent successful right shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Larry Watson at Orthopedic One in Upper Arlington, Ohio. The midfielder is currently recovering in Columbus.

Per Major League Soccer's roster rules and regulations, Swanson will not be eligible to play for Crew SC in any remaining competition during the 2016 MLS season, opening a slot on the Black & Gold's active roster.

Columbus returns to action by concluding the 2016 Trillium Cup rivalry series on Sunday, July 31 at Toronto FC (7:30 p.m. ET / The CW Columbus, Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, BCSN2, CD102.5 FM, La Mega 103.1, English radio stream on ColumbusCrewSC.com).
