Columbus Crew SC Celebrate Steel Beam Topping out Event at New Crew Stadium
January 7, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Columbus Crew SC News Release
COLUMBUS - Earlier today, Columbus Crew SC celebrated a construction milestone at its future downtown stadium, as it installed the final piece of the steel canopy and structure atop the New Crew Stadium. The final beam is 36 feet long, painted black and signed by the nearly 400 construction workers onsite as well as representatives from the Haslam and Edwards Families, Crew soccer and business operations leadership and front office staff.
The New Crew Stadium remains on schedule to open in July of this year. The canopy metal decking and spots field lighting are currently being put into place, following the progress of the steel structure. The scoreboards and ribbon board installation will begin in the coming weeks, while stadium seating installation is slated to be complete in the coming months. The field installation is scheduled to be completed this Spring.
