COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that the Club has signed a pair of players. The Club has re-signed forward Jordan Hamilton and has also come to terms with free agent goalkeeper, and former Crew SC shot-stopper, Matt Lampson. Hamilton, 23, has made 57 regular-season appearances (28 starts) while scoring 11 goals and providing three assists. A Crew SC Academy product, Lampson, 30, has made 61 regular-season appearances while recording 16 shutouts.
"In putting together our roster for next season, it is important that we continue to have competition at each and every position," said Crew SC President and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. "Both Jordan and Matt's MLS experience make our roster stronger and we're confident there will be battles for valuable playing time in their respective positions. We are glad to have both players back in our community and we look forward to their contributions in the 2020 campaign."
Hamilton spent the second part of the 2019 season with Crew SC, after joining the Black & Gold in a trade with Toronto FC on July 11. A Toronto FC Academy product, the forward played for Toronto from 2014-2019. In all, Hamilton has made 57 appearances (28 starts) in MLS regular-season action, registering 11 goals and three assists.
Lampson is a Crew SC Academy product who played for the Crew from 2012-2015. The goalkeeper most recently played for the LA Galaxy during the 2019 season after having spent 2018 with Minnesota United FC. Lampson also played for Chicago Fire FC from 2016-2017. In all, Lampson has made 61 appearances (59 starts) in MLS regular-season action, recording 16 shutouts.
