COLUMBIA, SC - The Columbia Blowfish (20-26) fall 6-4 to the Florence RedWolves (31-14) at Historical Capitol City Stadium.
Chase Shelton (Charleston Southern) was the bright spot for the Blowfish offense as he went 2-4 with a double, a run scored, and 2 RBIs.
The Columbia Blowfish got off to a hot start as Shelton, Bradley, and Street had 3 consecutive doubles to help give the Blowfish a 4-0 advantage in the bottom of the 1st.
The RedWolves would counter with 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning and then would take the lead for good with a 3 run 5th inning. Florence would add an insurance run late in the 8th inning to give them a 6-4 advantage.
Gene Cone (South Carolina) lead the charge for the RedWolves offense going 3-5 with a double and an RBI.
Florence had all but one started grab a hit in this outing as 4 batters had at least two or more hits.
RedWolves closer Michael Morrison (Coastal Carolina) picked up his 15th save of the season.
Blowfish starting pitcher Ben Shniderjans (Georgia Tech) threw 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7, on 87 pitches.
The Columbia Blowfish play at home again on Friday, July 25 against the Gastonia Grizzles. First Pitch is set for 7:05 P.M.
